TestManager

TestManager is a complete application for testing consumer electronics, broadcast and digital TV services. Using any combination and number of RedRat3s and irNetBoxes, tests can be scaled from a single device to many banks of equipment.

The application's main features are:

Scripting
Test scripts can be imported, stored and edited with the system. They can be directly edited, or can be entered via an on-screen remote control or physical remote handset. Multiple scripts can be executed simultaneously with TestManager ensuring that no concurrently executing scripts can interfere with each other.
Zoning
Set-top boxes can be grouped together into zones so that control operations can be targeted at just that zone.
Named Operations
Operations can be defined at a functional level rather than simply as a list of remote control signals. For example, the engineering channel may be at a different channel number on different types of set-top boxes in a farm, but a named operation could be configured to switch all STBs to this channel when executed.
Interactive STB Control
Using on-screen remote controls, any selection of STBs can be interactively controlled. A graphical representation of the STB positions can be created to help quickly and intuitively select the STBs to control.
Multiuser Access
All application data is stored in a relational database. This supports multi-user access of the system; a user can create and validate a script at their desk in preparation for use at the testing facility.

TestManager is available for £2000 per test facility. The client application (shown above) can be installed on as many PCs as required for the creation and validation of scripts, however only one PC can execute scripts and physically control equipment under test.
